Château Lascombes

To be privately owned

Château Lascombes is a castle located in the Margaux wine region of France. It is known for its classification as a Deuxième Cru Classé.

History+

The origins of the estate date back to the 12th century, when the Durfort de Duras family resided in Margaux and established the first vineyards in the 15th century. In the 17th century, Antoine de Lascombes acquired the vineyards, and his successor, Jean-François de Lascombes, further elevated the estate. After the French Revolution, the estate changed hands several times until it was acquired by Mademoiselle Hué in 1844. Her investments contributed to Château Lascombes being awarded the Deuxième Cru Classé at the 1855 Paris World Exhibition.
