History+
The estate's origins date back to the early 18th century when John Lynch, an Irish emigrant, settled in Bordeaux. His son Thomas-Michel acquired the land in 1749 through marriage and purchase, which later became known as Château Lynch. The winery remained in the Lynch family's possession until it was divided after the death of Jean-Baptiste Lynch in 1835. One part went to the Jurine family and later to the Cayrou family. In 1934, Jean-Charles Cazes leased the estate and bought it in 1938. Under his leadership and that of his successors, André and Jean-Michel Cazes, Château Lynch-Bages solidified its reputation as a producer of powerful wines.
