Vineyard

The Château Lynch-Moussas wine estate in Pauillac, Gironde, France, was classified as a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé as early as 1855.

History+

The origins of the winery date back to 1749, when Thomas-Michel Lynch laid the foundation for what would become Château Lynch through inheritance and land acquisition. The Lynch family, whose ancestor John Lynch came from Ireland to France in 1669 and established himself as a merchant, played a role in the estate's development. After the death of Jean-Baptiste Lynch in 1835, the estate was divided, giving rise to the part named after the hamlet of Moussas, today's Château Lynch-Moussas.
