Château Maison Blanche (Yvorne)

The Château de Maison Blanche (Château d'Yvorne) was built in 1573 by Anton von Erlach and his brother Borckhardt. In 1584, the castle was spared from the devastating landslide. In 1609, the walls were reinforced. In 1750, ownership passed to Friedrich Würstenberger, the Bernese bailiff of Aigle. It remained in the family's possession until the end of the 18th century. During this time, a round tower and corner turrets were added, whereupon the castle received the name Château Maison Blanche. Around the 1930s, the winemaking families Schenk and Rosset from Rolle bought the property and operated viticulture here. After a fire in 1974, the castle was rebuilt.
