Château Montcherand

Montcherrand Castle was built in 1790 by Guignard d'Orbe, modeled after Chamblon Castle. It was erected on the walls of a 16th-century feudal castle. During the 19th century, the castle was owned by the patrician families of Stürler, von Muralt von Mülinen from Bern. At the beginning of the 20th century, the castle belonged to Auguste Barbey, who restored it and exhibited a collection of local objects there. The castle was purchased in 1958 by Mr. Jean André, who transformed it into a children's home.
