Château Morges

Museum

Southwest of the old town of Morges in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, stands Château Morges. Its characteristic Savoyard construction and later redesign define its appearance.

History+

The origins of Château Morges date back to the late 13th century, when it was built between 1286 and 1291. The construction followed the typical form of a Carré savoyard, a regular square flanked by three smaller round corner towers and a large round north tower, which served as a keep. In the 16th and 17th centuries, the castle underwent transformations that gave it its current appearance.
