Château Pichon-Longueville

The origins of the estate date back to 1660, when Pierre de Mazure de Rauzan acquired the first lands. In the 17th century, extensive swamp areas in the Médoc began to be drained and made suitable for viticulture. Through the marriage of his daughter to Jacques de Pichon, Baron de Longueville, in 1694, the estate received its current name. In the mid-19th century, the property was divided: Baron Joseph de Pichon-Longueville retained two-fifths, while his three daughters received the remaining three-fifths.
