The remains of the Castle can be visited

Clenagh Castle was built towards the end of the sixteenth century by a branch of the McMahon family. The first mention of Clenagh in history comes from an inquisition held on the death of Toirdhealach O'Brien in October 1611 when Toirdhealach McMahon of Clenagh is named as one of the jurors.
