The Castle can be visited

On the coast of South Ayrshire in Scotland stands Culzean Castle, a structure built in the 18th century, located on a steep cliff directly by the sea.

History+

The castle was built in the 18th century on behalf of David Kennedy, the 10th Earl of Cassillis. The design came from Robert Adam. A special feature was the gas plant, which produced town gas from coal for lighting and heating until 1940. In 1945, the Kennedys handed over the estate to the National Trust for Scotland, which has managed it ever since. Previously, General Dwight D.
