Dalberger Manor
The Dalberger Hof in Bensheim on the Bergstraße is a manor and estate house, whose origins date back to the 16th century. It once bordered directly on the town wall and integrated parts of it.
History+
The construction of the Dalberger Hof likely took place in the years 1586/87. The Dalberg family had been settled in Bensheim since the 15th century. Between 1852 and 1863, Protestant church services were held here, and in 1858, a Protestant school was established. In 1866, the Dalberger Hof became the property of the city of Bensheim and was used as a customs office for a long time. In the 1950s, it was converted into a restaurant, with the Wappensaal (Coat of Arms Hall) on the upper floor being redesigned and now serving for events.
