The Degenfeld'sches Schloss in Groß-Karben, a town in the Hessian Wetteraukreis, is a historic complex that evolved from a country estate into a structure that today serves as a blend of residential space and cultural meeting place.

History+

The origins of the Degenfeld'sches Schloss date back to 1673/74, when Helfrich von Kroneck had a country estate built on this site. In 1728, Anna-Maria von Hutten-Stolzenberg zu Steinbach undertook a new construction, creating a single-story building with a mansard roof. After a change of ownership in 1766, when the Palatine Privy Councillor von Kronenberg acquired the property, the castle was extended around 1800: the western main wing and the south wing were raised.
