Deutschherren-Ordenshaus

The first documented mention of the Ordenshaus, then known as "Deutsches Huis zu Brettbach," occurred in 1239. It belonged to the Deutschordensballei Koblenz and encompassed approximately 400 acres of land in the 18th century. After the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss in 1809, ownership transferred to the Duchy of Nassau, before Hermann Fürst zu Wied acquired the property. Following his death, the building served various purposes, including as a branch school, kindergarten, outpatient clinic, and finally as a retirement home, known as Commende Rosa-Stift.
