Doktor Castle

The Doktorschlössl, formerly also called Radaun Castle, is located in the Glas district of Salzburg (Glaser Straße 7).

The property is mentioned in 1116 as being owned by Nonnberg Abbey. The Glas farm was then in the hands of various peasant and bourgeois owners. The Schlössl was named around 1670 after its owner Franz Mayr, princely physician to Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau and son-in-law of the cathedral builder Santino Solari. Today, it houses a three-star hotel.

The cubic-looking Schlössl has three stories, with four small hexagonal turrets at the corners, which date from the 1879 renovation by Baron von Fuchs. The house is covered with a hipped roof. The ground floor is reinforced by buttresses. On the east side, on the ground floor and first floor, three arched windows each form an arcade front.
