Originally a late Gothic monastery church, the sacred building was rebuilt from ashlar masonry in the 18th century following a fire. Another fire in 1846 led to the Neo-Gothic restoration of the uppermost floor of the choir flank tower. These events shaped its current appearance, which combines elements from various eras.
