The Drostei zu Pinneberg, a city palace in Schleswig-Holstein, is considered a significant example of North German Rococo. Originally known as Ahlefeldt Castle, the name Drostei later became established due to its function as the seat of the regional bailiffs.

History+

This brick building was constructed between 1765 and 1767. Ernst Georg Sonnin is named as a possible architect, believed to have designed the palace for the regional bailiff Hans von Ahlefeldt. Georg Greggenhofer and Cai Dose are also mentioned in this context, although a definitive attribution remains pending. Until the mid-19th century, the Drostei served as the administrative seat of the County of Pinneberg and later of the district administrators. After a period as the land registry office from 1933 onwards, the building underwent restoration between 1984 and 1991.
