Ecclesgreig Castle
Ecclesgreig Castle is the ruins of one mansion in Scotland, Aberdeenshire . It is located a half mile west of the small coastal village of St Cyrus . Ecclesgreig Castle was built originally in 1844 by William Forsyth Grant from the remains of the St Cyrus house from the 16th century. It was designed in the Victorian Gothic Revival style of the famous Bather architect Henry Edmund Goodridge (1797-1864). Here also the name in Ecclesgreig Castle was renamed to avoid confusion with the town of St Cyrus.
It is believed that Bram Stoker on a trip to Scotland for some time spent on the property and an inspiration for his famous novel Dracula was.
The present owner has been trying for years to preserve and safeguard the mainly inside a dilapidated ruin the property, with the goal of transforming it into a hotel.
