Walding Castle
Edelsitz Walding, now a castle, is located in the municipality of Walding in Upper Austria. Originally a noble residence, the building now houses a restaurant.
History+
The first documented mention of “Walting” dates back to 1317. In 1487, an “Edel Michel der Haberstorffer zu Walding” was specifically named. By 1602, Walding was assigned as an exempt noble seat under the dominion of Ottensheim. The building has today been incorporated into the Gasthaus Bergmayr Johann, also known as “Wirt z’Walding.”
