The Egerer Schlössl in Weyer, Upper Austria, is a castle built on the site of a former defensive structure. It served as the seat of a district court and was later transformed into an educational institution.

History+

In 1560, the Egerer Schlössl was erected as a fortress-like new building. It replaced a predecessor structure that had been destroyed during the Turkish Wars in 1532. Wolf Egerer, involved in the iron industry, is named as the builder of the castle. His brother, Lorenz Egerer, resided in the small castle until his death. The Egerer family was documented in Weyer until the mid-17th century. Until 1848, the building served as the seat of the district court.
