Studienkirche

The establishment of the Ursuline convent of St. Mary, along with its associated church of St. Ursula, dates back to a donation by Elector Johann Wilhelm in 1696. Construction of the convent and church was carried out between 1699 and 1701 under the direction of master builder Valerian Brenner. The church faces south and forms the northeastern corner of the square convent complex. Its distinctive tower, featuring a tall, square base, a short octagon, and an onion dome, projects like a risalit from the north facade. During the secularization, the convent was dissolved in 1813. By 1816, the Neuburg seminary took over the convent buildings and the church. Extensive renovations occurred in 1989/1990, followed by an exterior renovation in 2015.

The former Ursuline convent with the church of St. Ursula is situated in Neuburg an der Donau, a town in the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen, in the federal state of Bavaria, Germany.

The complex, once an Ursuline convent, is now used as a Catholic academy. The former convent church of St. Ursula serves as a study church and remains an active sacred building of the Roman Catholic Church.
