Dörfleshof

The former monastic estate of Ottelmannshausen, now known as Dörfleshof, is a historic monument located in the Rhön-Grabfeld region of Bavaria, Germany. It bears witness to a long monastic past and stands today as an impressive example of preserved cultural heritage.

History+

The origins of the monastery date back to the first half of the 12th century, with its establishment or first mention occurring between 1131 and 1135. It was associated with the Veßra Monastery and was dedicated to Saint Mary and John the Evangelist. For centuries, it shaped the religious and economic life of the region until its dissolution and secularization between 1545 and 1573 during the Reformation.
