On the south bank of the River Tay, Elcho Castle is an example of 16th-century Scottish architecture. Despite its age, it is well preserved.
History+
The origins of Elcho Castle date back to 1560, when it was built on the site of an older fortification. Since its construction, the estate has remained continuously in the possession of the Wemyss family, the Earls of Wemyss and Lords Elcho. Although the building has not been inhabited for about 200 years.

Elcho Castle is located in the Perth and Kinross region of Scotland, United Kingdom, near the city of Perth. It stands at an elevation of approximately 12 meters above sea level on the south bank of the River Tay.
