Faber Castle

The origins of Faber Castle date back to the 19th century. Between 1843 and 1846, the Old Castle was built, designed by architect Friedrich Bürklein in the Neo-Renaissance style. The patron was Lothar von Faber, whose family became wealthy through pencil production. In the early 20th century, specifically from 1903 to 1906, the Faber-Castell family had the New Castle constructed. This was realized according to plans by Prof. Theodor v. Kramer in the German Romantic style. Both castle wings are connected by a five-story tower, which also houses the gatehouse. Some of the interiors were designed by the architect and designer Bruno Paul.
