Fort V Orff is part of the fortifications of Ingolstadt, a city on the Danube in Bavaria. It represents a section in the military architecture of the late 19th century.

History+

Construction of Fort V Orff began on July 13, 1878, and was completed on August 29, 1882. In 1895, the work was named in honor of General Karl von Orff, who had distinguished himself in the 1870/71 war. Between October 15, 1889, and May 14, 1892, the facility underwent reinforcement. In 1889/1891, the inner connecting batteries were built, followed by a left outer connecting battery in 1896, while a right counterpart was omitted.
