The Caponier of the Fronte Rechberg (Work 18) is an element of the former Ingolstadt State Fortress. It is located within the inner fortress ring of the city of Ingolstadt in Bavaria.

History+

The Ingolstadt State Fortress underwent several expansion phases. After the fortress was destroyed by Napoleonic troops in 1801, a reconstruction of the Neoclassical fortress complex began in 1828 under King Ludwig I. Ingolstadt was designated as the site for the new royal Bavarian main state fortress.
