Larnaca Fortress, also known as Κάστρο Λάρνακας, is a historic structure on the coast of Cyprus. It was built on the foundations of an earlier Venetian fortification and later served as a prison before being converted into a museum.

History+

The origins of the fortress trace back to a Venetian fort. In 1625, the current fortress was constructed on its foundations. During the early years of British rule in Cyprus, the structure was used as a prison.

Larnaca Fortress is located in the city of Larnaca, in the Larnaca district, in the Republic of Cyprus on the island of Cyprus. It stands at an elevation of approximately 8 meters above sea level.
