The Fort can be visited

The Fortress Liège-Fort de Flémalle was once part of the defensive ring around the Belgian city of Liège. As one of the larger forts in this complex, it represents the military architecture of the late 19th century and the events of both World Wars.

History+

The first modern fortifications around Liège, including Fort de Flémalle, were constructed between 1880 and 1890 at the initiative of Belgian General Henri Alexis Brialmont. These forts, located approximately seven kilometers from the city center, were built using the then-novel material concrete and equipped with weaponry.
