Fort V, a part of the former Fortress of Magdeburg, which was once among the most powerful Prussian defensive structures, is located in Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt.

History+

The history of the Fortress of Magdeburg dates back to the 13th century, when the first fortifications were documented. The complex was continuously expanded and rebuilt due to the development of firearms. Between 1450 and 1550, extensive work was carried out, including the construction of a second city wall and the fortification of the Elbe front. Despite these reinforcements, the city fell to imperial troops in 1631 during the Thirty Years' War, after which the facilities were razed.
