The Fort can be visited

The Pula-Fort Maria Luisa Fortress, located on the Muzil peninsula in Pula, Croatia, was built at a strategically important point to protect the anchorage of the former imperial and royal port. It is considered one of the largest fortresses of its kind on the Adriatic.

History+

In the late 19th century, when Pula was the main naval port of the Austro-Hungarian Navy, the city was developed into a first-class fortress. Numerous forts, including Fort Maria Luisa, secured the surrounding area. The navy operated extensive facilities in Pula, from docks and a naval academy to an arsenal.
