Fort de Portzic
The Fort de Portzic is a fortress located near Brest. It was constructed as a part of the defenses for the Goulet de Brest and played a role in securing the city.

The Fort de Portzic was built between 1693 and 1699 under the direction of Vauban. Its function was to defend the Goulet de Brest, facing the Pointe des Espagnols. The complex underwent expansions and improvements, including the construction of the Phare du Portzic in 1848 and a semaphore station in 1987. This highlights its significance as the innermost and final line of defense for the city of Brest.
