History+
The origins of Fort de Toulbroc'h date back to 1884, when the first buildings and batteries were constructed on this site. During World War II, the facility was occupied by German troops. On September 2, 1944, an engagement took place when 60 soldiers of the 5th Ranger Battalion captured the fort in just six minutes, taking a German garrison of five officers and 237 men prisoner.
