The Fort can be visited

On the coast of Plouzané in Brittany is the Fort du Dellec. As part of the defensive chain along the Goulet de Brest, it played a role in securing access to Brest Bay.

History+

The origins of Fort du Dellec date back to the 17th century when it was built by Vauban as part of the coastal fortifications. The complex underwent modifications and expansions. The 19th century was formative, with the addition of casemates for troop accommodation and ammunition storage. During World War II, German occupiers supplemented the facility with an Atlantic Wall bunker.
