On the Roscanvel peninsula in France, the Fort du Tremet is a historic fortress that played a role in the defense of the Bay of Brest. Its position allowed it to control access to the Goulet de Brest and the Bay of Camaret-sur-Mer.
History+
The military use of the Tremet site dates back to 1694, when a battery was established here as part of Vauban's defensive scheme. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the facility underwent modernizations. After World War II, in 1955, the battery was converted into a heavy anti-aircraft post, reinforcing the outer defenses of the military port of Brest.

A part of the former anti-aircraft battery remains military land around Quélern and is not accessible to the public.
