The origins of the Buchen convent date back to the mid-14th century. In 1355, the community of Franciscan nuns was founded and established itself in the region. The convent was dedicated to Mary and played a role in religious and cultural life for centuries. However, its existence came to an end during the Reformation, when the convent was dissolved and secularized in 1570.
