Franziskanerterziarinnenkloster Lütgendortmund, genannt Marienborn

The Marienborn convent was founded in 1491. Originally established as a community for Franciscan Tertiaries, it was dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene. Throughout its history, the convent underwent various developments. At the beginning of the 18th century, the original building was demolished due to dilapidation and replaced by a new construction in 1725. A small convent church served the Catholic community as a place of worship until the construction of its own parish church in 1892. The convent's existence ended with the secularization in 1809.

The former Marienborn convent is situated in the city of Dortmund in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It lies at an elevation of approximately 110 meters above sea level.

After its dissolution, the former convent building was used as a school. Today, it houses a district youth center, a children's daycare, and a public library. The property is listed as a historical monument in the monument register of the city of Dortmund.
