In the municipality of Emersacker in the district of Augsburg, Fuggerschloss Emersacker is located. Although only parts of the original castle remain, they are connected to the Fugger family.

History+

The origins of the castle date back to the mid-12th century, when the nobles of Emersacker erected an initial fortification on this site. This early structure was completely destroyed during the Schmalkaldic War. Subsequently, the property changed hands multiple times, including the noble families Schertlin von Burtenbach and zu Schaumburg.
