In Esslingen am Neckar, the Yellow House combines medieval defensive architecture with Baroque residential culture. Today, it houses the city museum.
History+
A stone residential tower was built between 1259 and 1269, which is still preserved in the western part of the building. The house acquired its current Baroque half-timbered appearance after 1739. This later construction phase shaped its exterior, beneath which the medieval foundations are still hidden.

The Yellow House is located in Esslingen am Neckar, a city in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It stands at an elevation of approximately 242 meters above sea level.

Today, the Yellow House serves as a cultural site and houses the city museum. Together with the adjacent Baroque building at Hafenmarkt 7, known for its stucco ceilings, it forms a unit.
