Georgi Castle

The origins of the Georgischlössl date back approximately 160 years, when Count Attems had an existing country house redesigned in the English Tudor style. Between 1870 and 1880, the property was owned by the poet Stefan von Milow. The castle changed hands multiple times, belonging to various Italian, English, and Belgian noble families. During World War II, it served as a hospital for wounded soldiers and was used by the English occupation forces after the war. In 1960, an upscale "Buschenschank" (wine tavern) opened here, but it closed in the late 1990s, and the property was subsequently sold.
