In the Scottish Aberdeenshire rises the ruin of Glenbuchat Castle. This structure was once a residence.
History+
The construction of Glenbuchat Castle took place in 1590 under John Gordon of Cairnbarrow. The Gordon family retained ownership until 1738, when they sold the castle. The complex remained in private hands until James William Barclay acquired it in 1901. Finally, his grandson, Colonel James Barclay Milne, sold the estate to the Scottish state in 1946.
