To be privately owned

In West Sussex, England, Goodwood House has been the ancestral seat of the Dukes of Richmond since the late 18th century. The mansion, northeast of Chichester, is an example of Georgian architecture, remaining privately inhabited to this day.

History+

The origins of Goodwood House date back to around 1720, when a hunting lodge was built on this site. Around 1760, this smaller building underwent expansion under Sir William Chambers. The current three-winged structure, which incorporates the older building, was erected between 1790 and 1800 according to plans by James Wyatt for Charles Lennox, the 3rd Duke of Richmond.
