Puchenstein Castle

In 1706, the Khössler family built the Baroque Dvorec Pukštajn Castle at the foot of the hill on which the ruins of Puchenstein Castle stand. From 1817–1925, the Kometer family owned the castle. Baron Hans Kometer amassed a significant collection of weapons and antiques, some of which later went to the National Museum Ljubljana. During the time of Yugoslavia, the castle served as a barracks for the Yugoslav People's Army until 2008 and belonged to the Ministry of Defense.
Today, the municipality of Dravograd (Zavod Dravit) uses it for culture, protocol, weddings and overnight stays
