Grecken Castle

Construction of the Greckenschloss began around 1599 and was completed approximately in 1602. It was commissioned by Wolf Conrad Greck II on the Lindenberg, part of the property he inherited after the division of the Greck von Kochendorf family estate. The forced labor required for its construction led to complaints from the subjects, which even reached the Imperial Chamber Court. A contract in 1604 settled the dispute between the local lords and their subjects. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle suffered damage but was restored in 1681. Later, it became the property of the Knight Canton Odenwald, which established an office and a school there.
