In Würselen, north of Aachen, is Gut Kaisersruh, a historic manor and estate house. It is a listed property.
History+
The complex, originally known as “Mauenhof,” was likely built in the early 19th century in the Neoclassical style. The visit of Russian Tsar Alexander I in 1818 gave the estate its current name. After 1900, a Neo-Baroque extension was added to the rear of the property. Maps from 1846, 1895, and 1910 document the development of the estate. In the 1870s, the estate gained a railway connection, which was decommissioned in 1973. Despite earlier plans for renovation, large parts of the complex are now ruins.

Today, Gut Kaisersruh is privately owned. While large parts of the manor house remain as ruins, the southern farmhouse is the only intact and utilized area of the property.
