Klausheide Manor

The Gut Klausheide estate was founded in 1913 by the industrialist couple Bertha and Gustav Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach. Their goal was to establish an agricultural enterprise. The lands, originally covering about 3,750 hectares, remained in the family's possession until 1951. In that year, Bertha Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach sold the estate complex and 1,100 hectares of cultivated land to Saatzuchtgesellschaft Lochow-Petkus GmbH. A large part of the heathland, approximately 2,200 hectares, was handed over to the Wehrmacht for military use from 1933.
