Alt-Bülk Manor

The first documented mention of the Bülk estate, later known as Alt-Bülk, dates back to 1304. It once encompassed an area stretching from Seekamp to Dänisch-Nienhof. In 1350, Knight Ivan Reventlow is named as owner, followed by Wulf Pogwisch in 1353. From 1414, the Rantzau family owned the property for several generations. Otto Rantzau, mentioned in 1486, had Bülk Castle rebuilt on the foundations of an older structure. However, this castle was demolished in 1796. In 1602, Lorentz Rantzau, a later owner, was murdered in Dänischenhagen. After various changes in ownership, including Claus von Buchwald and Cay von Ahlefeld, King Christian IV of Denmark and Norway acquired the estate in 1632. Following the demolition of Friedrichsort Fortress, it returned to the possession of the von Buchwald family. In 1687, Claus Christoph I von Thienen bought the estate. In 1708, he established the Ravensbek and Eckhof farmsteads.
