Construction and Early History

The manor house (Renaissance building) was erected on the remains of a former moated castle between 1550-70 by the von Holstein family. It was the castle of the robber knight Henning von Holstein. The corner tower was added in the 19th century. In 1945, the owners were forcibly dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Between 1945 and 1990, the house was used as a school.
