History+

The manor house was built in 1857 by August von Dassel. Ownership then passed to Julius Juister. He rebuilt the house into its current form before the First World War. In 1918, Heinrich Bockelmann bought the property. Udo Jürgen Bockelmann - better known as Udo Jürgens - lived here temporarily between the world wars. In 1953, the house was rented to the Heimvolkshochschule Barendorf association. The association established an educational center in the house. In 1979, the association acquired the house.
