Breesen Manor

The manor house in Breesen was built on the foundations of a former moated castle in 1735. In 1793, the manor house was extended upwards. The economic wing on the left side was added in 1851 and extended upwards in 1902.

In the early 17th century, the von Krauthoff family owned the estate. In the second half of the 17th century, the von Engel family inherited the estate and managed it for several generations until their forced expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945, at the end of World War II. After 1945, refugees were housed in the building and the estate was converted into an LPG. Today, the manor house is privately owned, and its owners intend to renovate it and use it for artistic purposes.
