Breesen Manor

The manor house in Gresse is a two-story plastered building with a hipped roof, built around 1800. It was rebuilt in 1910 after a fire. The building has nine axes with a central three-axis risalit on the garden side. The risalit is crowned by a triangular gable. On the courtyard side, a four-column portico with a balcony was added in 1910. The manor house is privately owned and has been extensively renovated.

Gresse was first mentioned in a document in 1230 in the Ratzeburg tithe register. The village was originally a Slavic settlement. The name Gresse is derived from the Slavic word "Grez" for "mud" or "swamp".

The estate was owned by the Lords of Behr. In 1794, Georg von Behr sold the property to the Lords of Schack. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed by the communists.

The manor park was created around 1800 as a landscape park. It has an old tree population with oaks, beeches, and lindens. A small pond is located in the northern part of the park. The park is freely accessible and is used by the community for recreation.

The village church of Gresse is a brick church from the 14th century. It has a rectangular nave and a retracted choir. The tower was added in the 15th century. The church was renovated in 1863 and 1995. It is used by the Protestant community.

Rectory

The rectory was built in 1780. It is a plastered building with a hipped roof. It is located next to the church and is privately owned.
