Early History and Construction

The origins of the Goseck complex date back to the Middle Ages. A castle probably stood here as early as the 10th century, which served to secure the strategically important region. The current manor house was built in 1756. Over the centuries, the building underwent various changes and expansions, reflecting the respective stylistic epochs.

The 19th and 20th Centuries

In the 19th century, the manor house was owned by the von Trotha family, who carried out extensive renovations and modernizations. In 1908, a major reconstruction took place, which gave the house its present appearance. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists.

After the Fall of the Wall

After German reunification in 1990, the manor house stood empty for a long time and began to decay. In the early 2000s, a comprehensive restoration began, which brought the building back to its old splendor. Today, the manor house houses a cultural and event center that attracts visitors from near and far.

The Manor House of Goseck impresses with its stately appearance and numerous architectural details. The three-story building has a striking facade with ornate gables and bay windows. Inside, historical stucco ceilings, wall paintings, and valuable wooden paneling have been preserved.

A special feature is the adjoining park, which was laid out in the English landscape style. It offers a variety of rare trees and plants as well as picturesque views of the surrounding nature.

Today, the Manor House of Goseck is a vibrant cultural center. It regularly hosts concerts, exhibitions, readings, and theater performances. The historic rooms can also be rented for private celebrations and corporate events.
