The Manor House of Gressow+

The manor house was built in the 18th century and rebuilt several times in the following centuries. Owners included David Mevius and Georg Holsten. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed by the communists. After this, apartments were set up in the manor house.

History of the Manor House+

18th Century

The manor house was built around 1780 by the Mevius family. It was a simple, two-story plastered building with a mansard roof.

19th Century

In the mid-19th century, the manor house was extensively rebuilt and expanded. A third story was added and the facade was redesigned in the neoclassical style. The Holsten family, who acquired the estate in 1840, was responsible for these changes.

20th Century

After the expropriation in 1945, the manor house was used for residential purposes. Several families lived in the building, which was divided into small apartments. Due to a lack of maintenance, the building's condition deteriorated significantly over the decades.

21st Century

In 2004, the manor house was acquired by a private investor and extensively renovated. The goal was to restore the building to its original condition and to create modern living spaces. Today, the manor house houses several holiday apartments and is a popular destination for tourists.

The manor house is a plastered building with three stories and a mansard roof. The facade is designed in the neoclassical style with a central risalit and decorative elements. Inside, some historical details such as stucco ceilings and wooden paneling have been preserved.

A special feature is the spacious park surrounding the manor house. It was laid out in the 19th century and contains numerous old trees, a pond, and various garden elements. The park is open to the public and invites visitors to take a stroll.
